04 Mar Planning Greenlight for 25-Storey Cork Apartment Tower
JCD Groups 25-Storey Apartment Tower, located on the former Sextant Bar Site on Albert’s Quay has returned with a Greenlight from the Planning Authority.
An Bord Pleanála announced the decision yesterday following a comprehensive SHD (strategic housing development) application by Coakley O’Neill – which included G-Net 3D’s Verified View Montages and CGI – to help planners visualise the scale and impact of the tower on Cork’s skyline.
The Sextant Site Development is the second apartment tower to gain planning permission in Cork, with the 17-storey ‘Railway Gardens’, receiving the go ahead in December 2019, and which the team here at G-Net 3D also worked on.
The substaintial development by JCD is the beginning of a large push into the Cork Docklands. The site will encompass 201 luxury apartments: 95 one-beds, 102 two-beds & 4 four-beds. In addition, the scheme will contain a 25th Floor residents lounge in the main tower, underground parking with electric car charging points, an internal public plaza, public café, a gym, restaurant and finally a roof top garden area for residents to enjoy.
